Driven by a 17 year old...

We teens appreciate fine German engineering and horrendous German reliability as much as the next guy.

And wouldn't you have liked to have one of those at 17?

17 year olds wear Jean jackets?

You're a teen? You're not a teen.

I'm not? What happened?!?!

I legit didn't know you were a teenager. You comport yourself like an adult (at least online), so, keep it up.

Is 17 years old mentioned because BMW is up on a pedestal of never becoming cheap? And teens shouldn't have that sort of money?
The guy could've paid $5000-10000 for it, that's not much to ask from a teenager. And he will drop that into it every year to keep it going.

Thanks, much appreciated!
The old man car probably has something to do with it.

Another one. Jeezus, does nobody remember this?

*First* car. I'm not as elderly as I sound online.

fairly sure those 8 series with the 8 cylinder engines weren't horrendously unreliable.
At least the later updated version that solved the cylinder liner issue.
The 12 cylinder cars were a bit more unreliable.

I couldn't see if it was a V8 0r V12. TBH it looked like it said 750i.

he was a weird kid...

I work at a restaurant in a very wealthy area of St. Louis...not uncommon to see kids with super cars like lambos driving around.
Usually dad's cars but still odd to see kids driving nice cars

Ok, weird how? Like eccentric or just weird?
![]() 01/02/2015 at 16:47 |

very true...the area I work in is known for kids driving crazy cars cuz of mom and dad. One kid drove a Lamborghini, Bentley, and range rover all in one week to my restaurant

agree that first digit looks like a 7, but the middle digit looks like a 4 to me.
Other than the 850csi, not sure theres a way to tell if the i's or ci's are 12 or 8 other than the badge and lifting the hood. Great looking cars either way.

weird. I just say that based on the food he ordered with many odd substitutions... He might be a normal kid with weird food tastes

I've still never seen one of these in person. I'm always on the lookout.

Yea haha. I have 2 well regarded Universities in town, seeing students driving M, AMG, V and RS badges is common. A lot more Model S' popping up in the campus area too.
But I shouldn't talk, though not to the same caliber, I bought a CTS for my first car, $26k at 18 took a lot of work, both job-wise and academically. A lot of people labeled it as parent's money.

Friend in high school had an 8 series. Drove like a sane person though.

You might be 19 legally, but you'll always be a spry 72 to me.

I know the feeling. I bought a 2014 mustang and I am now 20. Worked since 12 umpiring and at a restaurant the last 4 years...still got to deal with ppl saying oh daddy bought you a mustang
